Maru Jensen was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1983. Coming from a long line of women artists and teachers in her family tree, she found herself immersed in museums and bookstores from early childhood investigating and daydreaming. These places became her refuge in hard times and the most beloved activity throughout her life. During her years in college she worked as an art teacher in a homeless shelter and an Orphan School actively trying to make a difference into the lives of those less fortunate and helping them heal through art. She lived in Italy for a while looking to connect with her family roots and the history of art. After returning to Argentina she later moved to Miami Beach, USA in search of new horizons. She has been living and working there since 2012 where she transcended her canvas with Fashion and Visual Merchandising, which has ultimately has influenced her more recent work in ceramics.
